WUKY, 91.3 FM to Broadcast Special 2012 Election Coverage

Lexington, Ky. (Nov. 2, 2012) ― WUKY will broadcast live coverage of the 2012 election Tuesday, Nov. 6

Coverage on 91.3 FM will begin with a simulcast of election coverage from KET.  Beginning at 7 p.m. EST Tuesday, KET's Bill Goodman and Renee Shaw will co-host "Election 2012," an hour of Kentucky returns and analysis. Veteran KET political observers Al Cross, John David Dyche, and Jennifer Moore will join them in the studio to provide commentary.

WUKY will join NPR’s live national coverage of the election at 8 p.m. EST.  Robert Siegel and Melissa Block will host the first part of the broadcast (from 8 p.m. to midnight). Guy Raz and Audie Cornish will host the second shift (from midnight to 3 a.m.)

NPR Washington Editor Ron Elving, national political correspondent Mara Liasson, and political junkie Ken Rudin will be in the Washington D.C. studio. Hosts will also be joined by NPR contributors E.J. Dionne of The Washington Post and the Brookings Institution and Matt Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon. NPR will have exit poll analysis from Andrew Kohut and Michael Dimock of the Pew Research Center.

NPR's Ari Shapiro will report from the Mitt Romney election night event. Scott Horsley will be at President Obama's election night event. NPR reporters and producers will also be with candidates at various state party headquarters nationwide, reporting the results and the mood from key electoral states and congressional, senatorial, and gubernatorial races.

WUKY will break into NPR's national coverage with updates on local and statewide elections throughout the evening. WUKY will also broadcast "Morning Edition" beginning at 5 a.m. Nov. 7 for the most up to date national election results and analysis.
