Farm Road on UK's Campus to Close Temporarily Beginning May 15

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 14, 2013) ― Due to preparation for a steam line replacement, one lane of Farm Road will be closed through Tuesday, May 14. Flagmen will be present to help direct traffic during the work. University of Kentucky Parking and Transportation Services recommends that anyone who normally uses Farm Road allow extra time for their commute. Access to lots and buildings from Farm Road will not be affected.

Beginning Wednesday, May 15, both lanes of Farm Road will be closed from the intersection at Veterans Drive to the parking lot entrance at the Gluck Equine Research Building. Motorists visiting the Gluck Equine Research Institute, Agricultural Engineering, or Cooper House will need to access their respective parking areas from Farm Road via Nicholasville Road. Vehicle access to the Plant Sciences building will be from Veterans Drive via Farm Road off University Drive, and parking areas for the E.S. Good Barn and the Kentucky Tobacco Research and Development Center may be accessed from Farm Road via University Drive.

This portion of the project is expected to be completed June 11. As always, construction is weather-dependent and the timetable is subject to change.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, seven days a week.
