Gas Leak at Farm Road and University Drive Capped, Evacuated Buildings Reopen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 13, 2013) — Columbia Gas Company has capped the gas leak at Farm Road and University Drive as of 11:45 a.m. today.  The buildings that had been evacuated, E.S. Good Barn, Barnhart Building, Plant and Soil Sciences Building and the Gluck Center, are open and being reoccupied now.  The leak occured when a one-inch gas line was struck during construction. UK Police and the Lexington Fire Department were on the scene.  Farm Road is open now after having been closed during work to shut off the gas leak.
