Graduate and Professional School Prep Week is Oct. 29-Nov. 2

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2012) — The University of Kentucky's 2012 Graduate and Professional School Showcase will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the Student Center Grand Ballroom, as part of a Graduate and Professional School Prep Week.

Students will have the opportunity to meet graduate and professional school representatives from UK, as well as from other regional and national colleges and universities. Recruiters from more than 60 programs will be on hand to answer students' questions about admission, financial assistance and graduate exams.

The first 100 students will receive a T-shirt at check-in.

The showcase is just one of several events in the Stuckert Career Center's prep week Monday, Oct. 29 through Friday, Nov. 2 for students who plan to continue their formal education after graduating.

The Graduate and Professional School Prep Week consists of workshops and other events designed to help students improve their chances of success in applying to competitive graduate and professional programs.

Participants may choose to attend one or more of the following events:

  • "Taking a Gap Year," 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, Stuckert Career Center
  • "GRE Prep Course," 4-6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, Stuckert Career Center
  • "Grad School 101," 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, Stuckert Career Center
  • "Graduate and Professional School Showcase," noon - 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, Student Center Grand Ballroom
  • "Getting Into Medical, Dental & Pharmacy School," 5- 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, College of Pharmacy, Room 202
  • "Writing a Winning Personal Statement," 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, Stuckert Career Center
  • "Preparing for Law School," 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, Stuckert Career Center
  • "Grad School 101," noon, Friday, Nov. 2, Stuckert Career Center
