Lexington Mayor Proclaims Nick Lawrence Day Honoring WUKY's 'Curtains @ 8' Host
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2013) ― Today, Jan. 18, 2013, is Nick Lawrence Day in Lexington as proclaimed by Lexington Mayor Jim Gray. Lawrence is host of the popular show "Curtains @ 8" on WUKY FM 91.3, the University of Kentucky's NPR station.
"Curtains @ 8," a live music and interview show that airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday each week, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As host of the show the last 20 years, Lawrence has given a voice to arts in Central Kentucky and beyond.
"Nick has been a wonderful ambassador for not only WUKY and the arts, but for the University of Kentucky as well," said Tom Godell, manager of WUKY.
