NEH Grant Writing Workshop Slated at UK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2015)  The University of Kentucky is hosting a regional National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) Grant Writing Workshop March 2-3. Open to scholars from Kentucky and surrounding states, the workshop will be led by NEH Program Director Daniel Sack.

Organizers said the attendees will learn a great deal about the process and how to make their next NEH proposal more competitive.

The event is geared toward scholars in the humanities from Kentucky and the region. In the plenary session, Sack will discuss practical tips for writing proposals and explaining the review process. The event will also include a review session in which experienced humanities scholars will walk through a mock proposal, discussing the merits and limitations presented.

In addition, Sack will meet with a limited number of individuals or small groups to discuss specific projects on the afternoon of March 2 and morning of March 3. Individuals and small groups wishing to meet with the NEH expert must submit a one-page project summary in advance. Meetings will be limited in number and reservations are required.

NEH Grant Application Workshops are open to anyone, regardless of their institutional affiliation, interested in learning about the NEH funding opportunities and application strategies.

Registration is required at https://www.as.uky.edu/national-endowment-humanities.
