Nominate Your Favorite Professor for Teaching Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 1, 2011) — It’s time again to submit nominations for the University of Kentucky Alumni Association’s Great Teacher Awards. Students may submit nominations of UK faculty for this prestigious award, now through May 6.

The University of Kentucky Alumni Association started the Great Teacher Award program in 1961 to honor excellent teaching at the university. There have been 247 teachers honored since that first year. Only students may submit nominations.

To be eligible, a candidate must:

·         Hold the rank of assistant professor or above and have been a member of the UK faculty for the past three years

·         Have superior knowledge of their subject matter

·         Demonstrate concern for students, both inside and outside of the university setting.

·         Not have received this award within the past 10 years.
