Nominations for Outstanding Teaching Awards Are Being Taken

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 2, 2011) — Each year, faculty and graduate students are recognized for outstanding teaching. The Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs is seeking nominations for these deserving faculty members and graduate teaching assistants for distinguished teaching awards. The awards are intended to identify and recognize individuals who demonstrate special dedication to and meritorious success in their teaching; and to encourage awareness of the importance of excellence in teaching.

A selection committee will review the nominees, collect additional information and recommend approximately 10 winners to the provost. Deadline for faculty, staff and students to submit one-page initial nominations to the faculty member's department chair is 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011.  All submissions are to be made electronically.  Details about the nominating and selection process are available online at: http://www.uky.edu/Provost/APFA/Awards_Honors/nominations.php

The award recipients will be honored at the Founders Day Ceremony Feb. 22, 2012,.
