Parking and Transportation Services Offers Special Holiday Parking Passes
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 29, 2011) – University of Kentucky Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is offering those UK students concerned about leaving their vehicles out in the elements during the semester break peace of mind. PTS is providing students with the chance to house their vehicles in Parking Structure #5, located on South Limestone next to Kennedy Book Store, for the duration of the break.
To obtain a holiday parking pass, students should visit the main PTS office, located in Parking Structure #6, at the corner of Press and Virginia Avenues, or the Parking Structure #5 office, located on the first floor and facing Limestone. Passes are available only to students with a valid UK parking permit; the passes will be issued at no cost, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, with a maximum of 200 passes issued.
Vehicles may be parked on the fourth or fifth floor of Parking Structure #5 beginning Monday, Dec. 12. Students should access the garage by pulling a visitor ticket from the ticket dispenser. The holiday parking pass must be clearly displayed on the dashboard.
Upon returning to campus, students should bring their holiday parking pass to the Parking Structure #5 office, to be exchanged for an exit pass.
Vehicles not removed by close of business on Tuesday, Jan. 10, will be charged the hourly parking rate starting at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 through the exit time and date.
