Parking & Transportation Services Offers Student Spring Semester K, Evening Permits

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2012) – Beginning Monday, Dec. 10, student spring semester parking permits will go on sale through Parking and Transportation Services. Permits will be available online at www.uky.edu/pts and at Parking and Transportation Services, located in Parking Structure #6 (721 Press Avenue).

UK and BCTC students seeking K and evening permits for the 2013 spring semester may apply online through the Parking Account Manager. UK students must use their link blue login and password in order to apply for a permit online. BCTC students must use their KCTCS username and password.

The Parking Account Manager allows users to manage some of their own information, such as adding a new vehicle license plate to their account, paying outstanding citations, as well as purchasing a permit once logged into the system - all in real time. The cut-off date for online permit application is Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.

With the exception of multi-use commuter lots, student parking lots will not be controlled for permits during the semester break, beginning Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. All residential lots will resume normal control on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. K lots at Commonwealth Stadium will resume normal control on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, to allow new students time to purchase K permits once they arrive on campus.

Eligible students who do not have a parking permit or who want to upgrade a K permit may submit a lottery request online for C and R permits through the Parking Account Manager. Eligibility criteria must be met to purchase the desired permit. Drawings are typically held two to three weeks after the beginning of the semester and notification is sent via e-mail.

New students are encouraged to visit the New Student Parking Information page for maps, frequently asked questions, and more.
