Power and Computer Services Returned to Campus After Morning Outage

The university has restored full power to the campus following a morning outage.  As a result of the power outage, a power surge caused computer servers to fail, however IT has now restored Outlook, Blackboard and Internet service. 

Around 8:30 this morning a power cable to the Student Center from Substation #2 burned out causing the initial outage.  Power was restored to 80 percent of the affected buildings within a half hour.  Power was restored to the Student Center, Buell Armory, Barker Hall and Frazee Hall by 10:40 a.m.

Dining areas on campus are operating, although some areas that experienced a power outage may have limited offerings until they are fully operational.
