LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 16, 2013) − Kevin M. Schuer, assistant professor and academic coordinator in the Physician Assistant Studies Program at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences, has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA).
The Rising Star award is given to a program faculty member with three to seven years of service who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research or other scholarly activities, administration, and professional service. This national award has been presented by PAEA to notable program faculty since 2004 and has a distinguished list of previous award recipients.
Schuer has been an active member in leadership in both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) serving as the chair of the AAPA’s quality care working group as well as serving as invited instructional faculty to PAEA’s Basic Skills Certificate Program. The award will be presented to Schuer the week of Oct. 14 at the PAEA Educational Forum’s awards luncheon in Memphis.
