UK Offers New Resource Center for Students
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2013) — The Office for Student Success has launched an exciting new online resource center for students at the University of Kentucky: Succeed @ UK.
“The new resource center will give students easier access to the tools that they need to succeed at our institution and expose them to new resources," Dan O’Hair, interim senior vice provost for student success, said. "Our goal is to reach out to students in more innovative ways to help them be successful.”
Students may browse and search for resources on this website: http://www.uky.edu/studentsuccess/student-resource-home.
A key component to this new resource center is a calendar for new incoming freshmen. The interactive calendar allows students who will be entering the university in the fall of 2013 to add relevant dates and deadlines to their personal calendars with the click of a button. Parents of incoming freshmen are also encouraged to download the calendar.
Interim Provost Tim Tracy created the Office for Student Success as part of a larger reorganization effort in July 2012. The Office for Student Success assumed responsibility for retention activities as well as serving as an organizational umbrella for Student Affairs, the International Center, Division of Undergraduate Education, Enrollment Management and the Center for Enhancement of Learning and Teaching.
The Office for Student Success also encourages colleges and departments across the university to suggest resources and services to be added to the virtual resource center.
