Nominations Being Taken for 2019 Mobley Philanthropy Awards — Philanthropy Officers, Deans, Directors and Faculty Eligible

The Mobley Awards honor the memory of Terry Mobley, who, for more than 27 years, provided leadership for UK’s philanthropy and advancement programs.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 9, 2018) — University of Kentucky Philanthropy’s 2019 Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards nomination process begins today, announced awards committee chair Greg Laur, senior executive director of philanthropy administration.

Honoring the memory of Mobley, who, for more than 27 years, provided leadership for UK’s philanthropy and advancement programs, the Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards are designed to recognize and reward staff who have demonstrated outstanding performance and professional achievement, Laur said.

Eligible nominees for the awards program’s four categories include staff of UK Philanthropy and the UK Alumni Association, college and unit philanthropy and alumni relations staff, deans, faculty and directors. Those categories include:

  • Front Line Award: presented to a UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association or other support staff member to recognize outstanding performance in support of philanthropy efforts at the university.
  • Rising Achievement Award: presented to a professional staff member who has UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association, or college/unit philanthropy and alumni relations tenure of fewer than five years, who demonstrates excellent work performance, significant success and potential of further outstanding achievement and impact as a philanthropy or alumni professional.
  • Professional Achievement Award: presented to a professional staff member who has UK Philanthropy, UK Alumni Association, or college/unit philanthropy and alumni relations tenure of five or more years, who consistently demonstrates excellent work performance and has achieved significant success and impact as a philanthropy or alumni professional.
  • Philanthropy Service Award: presented to a UK senior professional, administrator or faculty member who has demonstrated extraordinary support for the philanthropy effort at the university, is a strong advocate for philanthropy and is not a full-time UK Philanthropy or UK Alumni Association professional.

UK faculty and staff are asked to nominate a deserving person by downloading the nomination forms and guidelines, which can be found at www.kentuckycan.uky.edu/your-gifts-at-work/mobley-awards.

Once completed, please mail to: Terry B. Mobley Awards, c/o UK Philanthropy, Sturgill Philanthropy Building, Campus 0015. All nominations must be received on or before noon Monday, Oct. 29.

Award winners will be selected by a committee consisting of past award recipients and standing committee members. The winners will be recognized at a special awards ceremony to be held at King Alumni House Wednesday, Nov. 28.
