UK-United Way Campaign Continues

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2018) — The University of Kentucky United Way campaign continues through Oct. 31.   

For over 96 years, the nonprofit United Way of the Bluegrass has been a leader and motivator for solutions for education, basic needs and financial stability for families in the Bluegrass.

The organization's mission is to create opportunities for families for a better life, hoping to reach their Big Bold Goal of more than 20,000 families be self-sufficient by 2020. Their focus is helping supply families with basic needs, student success, education and financial stability.

UK holds a fundraising campaign for United Way every October. To date the university has raised more than $4.2 million. Last year UK raised over $240,000. This year the goal is to raise $250,000.

University employees who are interested in helping with this year’s campaign have a quick and efficient option to make a donation through the myUK portal. Simply visit myUK and click on the Employee Self Service tab to begin a United Way pledge. Employees can also donate through www.uky.edu/uw/make-pledge.
