Nominate Faculty, Teaching Assistants for 2020 Outstanding Teaching Awards
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 24, 2020) — Each year, the University of Kentucky recognizes faculty and graduate students for outstanding teaching. The Office for Faculty Advancement, part of the Office of the Provost, is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Outstanding Teaching Awards. The awards are intended to identify and recognize individuals who demonstrate special dedication to student achievement and who are successful in their teaching. Approximately eight to 10 individuals will be recognized at the annual awards ceremony on April 23.
Faculty, staff and students should submit a one-page initial nomination to the faculty member's or teaching assistant's department chair or school director. The deadline to submit the initial nominations is 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7. The deadline for department chairs or school directors to submit their two-page formal nominations to the Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Advancement is 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28. A selection committee will review the nominees, collect additional information for finalists and recommend winners to the provost. The award recipients will be honored at a formal ceremony and receive their awards at the Faculty Awards Ceremony at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in Ballroom A of the Gatton Student Center.
