A Music Lover's New Year's Eve
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 20, 2010) − Ring in the New Year with a night to remember. Everett McCorvey and John Nardolillo invite you to attend a night of dinner, dancing and music to celebrate the arrival of 2011. This popular New Year's Eve Gala kicks off at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at the Hilary J. Boone Center, on the University of Kentucky campus.
Talented singers and musicians from UK School of Music will be on hand to provide entertainment for UK Opera Theatre's New Year's Eve Gala. The event also features dancing, a dinner buffet and a champagne toast at midnight.
On tap to perform at the gala are UK Symphony Orchestra under the direction of John Nardoillo; UK Opera Theatrevocalists; and the Miles Osland Little Big Band. The night will also feature solo performances by Endowed Chair, Professor of Voice Cynthia Lawrence, a lyric soprano formerly with the Metropolitan Opera; UK Artist-in-residence Gregory Turay, a tenor formerly with Metropolitan Opera and UK alumnus; Alicia Helm McCorvey and Director of UK Opera Theatre Everett McCorvey; and Metropolitan District Audition winners Reginald Smith Jr., Mary Hollis Hundley and Holly Flack. ,
