October opportunities for professional development, service with UK Women’s Forum
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2022) — The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum will host two events this month that focus on professional development and service to the local community. These events are open to all members of the university community.
The fall professional development series will focus on career development and advancement. This month, Natalie Lindgren, UK HR manager, will discuss “Professional Development Opportunities as a UK Employee." The month-long service project is a donation drive to support women in addiction treatment at the Isaiah House Women’s Centers in Central Kentucky.
The UK Women’s Forum will host Natalie Lindgren, UK HR manager for training and development, noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25. Lindgren will discuss opportunities within UK for employees to grow their knowledge, skills and networks. This in-person event will be held at the Gatton College of Business and Economics in Room 311. Lunch will be provided. Lindgren came to UK as the HR training and development manager in 2016 and has been a manager of people and processes for nearly 25 years. After obtaining a degree in business management from Asbury University, she began a career in consumer banking where she managed branch operations. She then moved into managerial training and coaching, eventually becoming a VP of financial operations where she led a team that coached and trained employees, managers and executives on topics ranging from compliance to people management.
Through Oct. 31, the UK Women’s Forum will be collecting items to fill gift bags for women in addiction treatment at the Isaiah House Women’s Centers in Central Kentucky. The following items are needed for the gift bags:
- shampoo/conditioner and different types of hair care items;
- toothbrushes/toothpaste;
- body sprays;
- lotions;
- nail care items;
- hairbands; and
- combs/hair bushes.
Items can be dropped off at the Oct. 25 professional development session or throughout the month of October at any of the following locations:
- Gatton College of Business and Economics (Room 359);
- Gatton Student Center (Suite C201, Office 239); or
- UK Chandler Hospital Pavilion (Room H8 – Basement).

Isaiah House Women’s Center is a 28-bed facility in a beautiful, serene setting located across from the Kentucky Castle in Woodford County. They also have two locations in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The women’s program provides healing, support and guidance for substance use disorder recovery for 60 women in Central Kentucky.
Since the beginning, the UK Women's Forum has existed to create an equitable community at the university.
