Registration Open for HIV/AIDS Clinical Update

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 25, 2010) – Registration is now open for the 2010 Intensive Clinical Update on HIV/AIDS for Infectious Disease and HIV Specialists, to be held Saturday, April 10 at The Red Mile Race Track Clubhouse in Lexington.

The educational event is designed to provide advanced clinical sessions with the most up‐to-date information about best practices in HIV/AIDS care for HIV and infectious disease specialists. It is intended for physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, dentists, and pharmacists who currently provide or who could potentially provide care services to HIV/AIDS patients. Attendees may be eligible for continuing education credits.

Session topics include: oral manifestations of HIV, kidney disease in HIV patients, medical interventions for addiction, anal cancer and anal pap smears in the HIV-infected population, and hepatitis B.

This year's faculty presenters will be:

Dr. Joel M. Palefsky, associate dean for clinical and transitional research and professor of laboratory medicine and medicine, University of California, San Francisco;

Dr. R. Douglas Bruce, assistant professor, Yale University School of Medicine;

Dr. Melissa Osborn, assistant professor, Emory School of Medicine;

Dr. Christina Wyatt, assistant professor of nephrology, Mount Sinai School of Medicine; and

Dr. David A. Reznik, director, Oral Health Center and infectious disease program chief, Dental Service Grady Health System.
