LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 17, 2024) — For the past decade, the UK HealthCare Gill Heart & Vascular Insitute Affiliate Network has advanced heart care in Kentucky.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Kentucky, and the state has one of the highest rates of heart disease in the country. To help fight this battle, UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute’s cardiovascular specialists and experts work closely with 25 affiliate network hospitals across the state to improve cardiovascular outcomes through educational programming, quality improvement initiatives and community engagement.

The network celebrated a major milestone this year: 10 years of collaboration.

On this “UK at the Half,” Gill Affiliate Network Director Navin Rajagopalan, M.D., discusses how the network has improved cardiovascular care in Kentucky and what he hopes the network can do in the next decade.
