LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 17, 2025) A new, convenient location to receive quality primary care from UK HealthCare providers is open and ready to serve UK employees and neighbors living in Frankfort and the surrounding community.

UK HealthCare Primary Care — Frankfort recently opened at 279 King’s Daughters Drive, Suite 100. From physicals to chronic disease management, the clinic is a one-stop shop for adults in need of high-quality primary care close to home.

“We are opening this clinic to act on one of the priorities of UK HealthCare: increasing access to primary care in Kentucky,” said Lucas Shelton, M.D., medical director at UK HealthCare Primary Care — Frankfort. “Our clinic will serve the medical needs of any adult age 18 and up, whether that be for treatment of acute illnesses or the long-term management of chronic medical conditions.”

Appointments can be made at 502-352-9354. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Patients can expect care from providers who care about them as individuals,” Shelton said. “With our patients, we discuss the importance of illness prevention through cancer screenings, healthy lifestyle changes and immunizations. When medical problems arise, we come along side our patients to determine the best treatment plan, whether that be management from our office or with consultation from advanced subspecialty care.”

The UK HealthCare Primary Care — Frankfort clinic opened in March to make UK HealthCare providers available to UK employees and neighbors living in central Kentucky. Providers plan their care to best fit the needs of the patient, considering various aspects of their history and preferences when planning procedures and treatment options.

“Above all, we will always strive to provide excellent patient care,” Shelton said. “We count it a privilege to open this clinic and serve this community.”

Additionally, UK HealthCare provides access to specialty care at outreach locations conveniently located at the Frankfort Medical Pavilion and at 601 Chamberlin Ave. in Frankfort.
