LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 9, 2026) — Midterm week is fast approaching and now is an important time for students to familiarize themselves with the resources available on campus. The University of Kentucky provides an abundance of tutoring services, study rooms and more to aid students during the busy week ahead. Here are just a few of the many resources made available through the university:

  • Academic Resource Search Tool: Discover free academic resources specific to your class. To make it even easier, enter your class name and it will prepopulate relevant services.
  • Open study spaces: The Study offers open study space at both its locations (The Study Central at Boone Center and The Study North at Jewell Hall), 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday.
  • Meditation and exercise: Dedicating plenty of time to studying serves a crucial role in ensuring success for midterms, but taking quality breaks to recover holds an important role as well. Students can visit Campus Recreation centers to de-stress. If students are looking for a more laid-back exercise, Headspace offers guided meditations for free to all eligible students. Wanting to stay active right from your own space? Try Campus Recreation Virtual.
  • Study room reservationsStruggling to find a quiet place to study? Interested in meeting with a study group to prepare for exams? The William T. Young Library and Fine Arts Library offer the perfect spaces to study alone or with classmates. If you are interested library hours across campus, visit this link to see a full schedule.
  • Create a schedule with Transformative Learning: Midterm preparation can feel, and often become, quite chaotic. Schedules give students the ability to organize their plans and accomplish goals in an orderly fashion. Students can print a time management schedule provided by Transformative Learning’s Integrated Success Coaches to organize their week into hour blocks dedicated to classes, studying, taking breaks and other obligations. It also has a “schedule your joy” section to ensure that students devote time to caring for themselves and recovering.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
