Green Dot Founder to Speak at the University of Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 8, 2016)  Theta Chi Fraternity and Delta Zeta Sorority are hosting Dorothy Edwards, founder of Green Dot, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., March 10, at Memorial Hall.

Edwards, an internationally renowned speaker on sexual violence prevention, will be presenting on the “What’s Your Green Dot?” initiative and the "bystander effect" on college campuses. All students are encouraged to attend the free event and engage in meaningful conversation.

“It’s an enormous privilege to be able to host Dr. Edwards at the University of Kentucky, where she founded Green Dot,” said Paul Savage, president of Theta Chi. “It will be a great way to learn about how to recognize potentially dangerous situations and how to be an active bystander.”

The Green Dot strategy aims to eliminate interpersonal violence by engaging college students in prevention training and behavior. For more information about the Green Dot strategy on the UK campus, please visit www.uky.edu/StudentAffairs/VIPCenter/learn_greendot.php.
