Tutoring With a Spin

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 23, 2015) — Do you feel lucky? You will after you use Presentation U!’s tutoring services or attend a Power Hour workshop. Increase your communication skills, ensure a better grade on an assignment, and walk away with a great prize!

The campus community is invited to visit Presentation U! @ the Hub of William T. Young Library or the north location at Champions Court I Jan. 26-30 to get a jump start on written, oral, or digital communication projects this semester. Any student who visits can spin a wheel for the chance to win a prize including UK apparel, a Starbucks, Common Grounds or McDonald’s gift card, Presentation U! apparel, and much more.

Plan to drop in for tutoring, schedule a tutoring appointment, or attend the Power Hour “Take This Down: Note-taking Tips for Student Success.” Stand out among peers and start the semester off on the right foot by taking advantage of the resources available at Presentation U!

Presentation U! is a multimodal communication tutoring center on campus with the main center @the Hub in B-24 of the William T. Young Library and a satellite location on the first floor of Champions Court I. Peer tutors offer assistance for any form of oral, written, and visual/digital communication. This could include improving a paper, developing and practicing a presentation, help with APA or MLA style, and working on the content and organization of a digital or visual project like PowerPoint, Prezi, websites, and videos.

The Presentation U! tutoring center was born out of the Quality Enhancement Plan proposed for re-accreditation for the university through SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). Presentation U! also offers a Faculty Fellows program and many other services to support faculty’s instructional strategies.
