LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 15, 2017) The campus and Lexington communities are invited to a Thanksgiving Fundraising Gala hosted by the University of Kentucky African Students Association. UK alumnus and Ebola fighter Mosoka P. Fallah will be on hand to help the organization raise money for their philanthropic project, Refuge Place International. For his role as an Ebola fighter, Fallah was honored as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2014.

This year’s African Students Association’s gala is dedicated to Refuge Place International. The gala serves as an occasion to collect funds for adequate health care conditions for the disenfranchised women and children of Liberia, who are continually battling grave economic and health crises.

The gala will begin 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Signature Club at Lansdowne. Fallah, founder of RFPI, will kick off the evening's festivities, which feature authentic African cuisine for dinner. The night will continue with a few performances before opening up the dance floor.
