Faculty, Staff Invited to Halloween 'BOOne-anza'

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2014) — University of Kentucky faculty and staff are invited to the first UK Halloween BOOne-anza, sponsored by the Hilary J. Boone Center and the Staff Senate on Friday, Oct. 31. 

Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Boone Center. Free activities include a costume contest, a departmental "best spirit" award, and trick-or-treating with various local vendors and exhibitors throughout the Boone Center. Carl Nathe, "Voice of the UK Football Wildcats," will serve as master of ceremonies. 

A lunch buffet will be available for $12 to all employees. Diners will serve as judges in the costume contest. Departments may reserve a table for up to eight people, and individuals may also reserve spots until 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. To make dining reservations, call the Boone Center at 859-257-1133. Cash/credit card payments are accepted.

To enter the costume contest, visit to register and read full requirements. The department showing the best spirit (costumes considered), among the departments with tables at the event, will receive a prize.
