Staff Senate April 2010 Report

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 27, 2010) – Staff representative to UK’s Board of Trustees, Robynn Pease, announced the “UK Remembers” ceremony that was held April 13. Those who couldn’t attend the event or who did and would like to leave a comment, may go to http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=397122495930&ref=ts on Facebook.  “UK Remembers” honors recently deceased students, staff, faculty and alumni.

On April 16, the Staff Senate held the last open forum for candidates running for staff representative to the Board of Directors before primary voting began April 21. Those who attended any of the public forums had an opportunity to hear the three candidates’ points of view and to ask them questions. Gail Carbol from Human Resources presented a brief overview of open enrollment, which is April 26–May 14. While there haven’t been any major changes in benefits, there have been a few modifications, and staff is urged to check these out by either searching the Human Resources website or a site maintained by a provider. Like last year, most, if not all, open enrollment changes may be done online.
