Staff Senate Opens Nominations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 13, 2011) -- The University of Kentucky Staff Senate is in the midst of another round of elections this year. Nominations are open through April 29.

To be eligible for the Staff Senate you must be a regular, full-time staff member with at least one year of continuous service by April 1, 2011.  Visit the Staff Senate website to find your precinct and check to see if a senate seat is open in your area.  If you want to run, you must nominate yourself. 

Electronic and printable versions of the nomination form are available at the Staff Senate website at http://www.uky.edu/Staff/Senate/ .  The Staff Senate Election Committee office is located in 202C Main Building.  You can also contact Holly Jones Clark, Staff Senate office coordinator, at (859) 257-9242 or hclark@email.uky.edu to have the form sent to you.  You may submit the form electronically via the Staff Senate website or return the documents to:  Holly Jones Clark, UK Staff Senate Election Committee, 202C Main Building, Lexington, KY, 40506-0032.  Documents can also be faxed to (859) 257-9240 or sent via e-mail to hclark@email.uky.edu.

Nominations must be received no later than 4 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 29, 2011, to be considered for eligibility for candidacy.  Please allow time for campus mail.

Voting begins for all precincts at 8 a.m. May 19.
