UK Plans Elder Care Events, Support Groups

  

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 29, 2009) - As part of its observance of National Family Caregivers Month throughout November, UK Elder Care and Work+Life Connections will offer events and free resources for UK employees who are parents and/or provide care for elderly relatives or friends. Topics include AARP health care reform, seasonal stress, flu season and organizational skills.

Negotiating Special Education Services: Top Five Things to Know and Do is slated Nov. 2 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. at the Chandler Hospital Learning Center, H-31F or Nov. 9 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. at William T. Young Library, Gallery Room.

AARP Health Care Reform: Mythbusters is the subject of a town hall meeting Nov. 3 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in the William T. Young Library, Gallery Room.

It's perfect timing for ‘Tis the Season to De-Stress! Nov. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. in the William T. Young Library, Gallery Room.

On Nov. 12, a Simple Ideas for Turning Holiday Grief into Hope presentation is scheduled from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in 228 Student Center.

 

A discussion of What You Need to Know: Cold and Flu is planned from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 19 in the William T. Young Library, Auditorium.

An introduction to Lotsa Helping Hands will be on Nov. 24 from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. in the William T. Young Library, Keeneland Room.

Three Easy Steps for Getting Organized: Legal, Medical, and Financial Planning is scheduled Nov. 30 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in the Chandler Hospital Learning Center, H-31F.
