“Almost Famous” tells the story of 15-year-old William Miller (Patrick Fugit), an aspiring rock journalist. Set in Scotland during mythic times, “Brave” relates the tale of Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald), a young, independent daughter of royalty. Rather than follow the royal traditions her mother heaps on her, the rebellious princess spends her time honing her formidable skills with her bow and arrow. When her willful attitude and questionable behavior ignite controversy throughout her kingdom, Merida turns to a strange witch for advice. The consequence of her encounter with the old sorceress is a curse which Merida must counter with her courage and fortitude. (Rated PG)

In “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” four small turtles are exposed to a mysterious chemical called Ooze in the sewers of New York City. The strange substance transforms the reptiles into a humanoid fighting force. Guided by the wise and similarly mutated rat, Master Splinter, the mutant turtles train in the ancient martial arts. When the ruthless samurai Shredder and his Foot Clan lay siege to the city that made them, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must use their newfound powers to stop him. (93 min. Rated PG)
