Final Word: Grace Gorrell

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2010) - We all could use a little grace in our lives. In the W.T. Young Library auditorium at 7 p.m. tonight, Monday, Oct. 4 UK Professor Grace Gorrell will be speaking for free as part of the Student Activities Board’s (SAB) Final Word series.

Gorrell is a professor in the College of Agriculture and works with community and leadership development. Her lecture, titled "Leading with Grace," is about leadership. She is involved with the 4-H organization and teaches students on how to apply their leadership abilities to their future careers.

Jill Baranowski, director of SAB’s Engaging Issues Committee said, “Grace Gorrell gave a Final Word last year and is still highly recommended as a professor students want to see. She’s a great lecturer and we’re excited to have her speaking again.”

The Final Word is a homegrown series that features professors, faculty and influential people from the UK community answering the question, “What would you lecture about if it were going to be the last one you ever give?” For four years, the series has invited many people to lecture with topics ranging from things like sustainability, to world travel, to the importance of bourbon in Kentucky.

Students and general public are encouraged to attend this free event.
