Great Teacher Nomination Deadline Approaches

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 26, 2010) The deadline is approaching for students to reward their favorite teacher by nominating him or her to be a 2011 Great Teacher.

The University of Kentucky Alumni Association is accepting nominations until May 7, 2010.

The UK Great Teacher Award is one of the most coveted accolades among UK faculty. It is the longest, continuously running awards program on campus. Each year, six teachers are presented with cash awards and recognition at a special event.

The award recognizes excellence in teaching at the university, whether at the undergraduate or graduate level. Only students can submit nominations, while the student organization Omicron Delta Kappa assists in selecting the final honorees.

Students can use a simple, online form to nominate a UK teacher who has meant a lot to them personally or professionally. All forms must be filled out completely and returned to the King Alumni House, at the corner of Rose Street and Euclid Avenue, no later than May 7, 2010.

Print the form at http://alumniweb.uky.edu/alumni/ukalumninet/ukalumni/greatteachers/2011GreatTeachers.pdf and return it to the King Alumni House.

Or, fill out the online application at http://alumniweb.uky.edu/alumforms/greatteacher/.
