Last Chance to be on K Crew Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 14, 2013) — Last chance to make a difference!

Remember how reassuring it was to see other University of Kentucky students mingling throughout the welcoming crowd of K Week events? Here’s your chance to make a similar difference in the lives of next year’s freshmen.

It takes a not-so-small mob of UK upperclassman leaders – more than 350 to be exact -- to manage the annual welcoming programs for freshmen and transfer students known as K Week. The student leaders call themselves the K Crew, and even more will be needed this August to make the anticipated record-breaking 2013 freshman class feel comfortable in their new Wildcat home.

“I am very excited to make the incoming freshman class feel right at home at UK, alongside of our new K Crew Leaders for the fall of 2013.  I know that we will have a staff full of spunky and passionate leaders, who share my love for this university and K Week,” said K Crew co-coordinator Emory Jones.

With the input of Student Affairs staff members in New Student and Parent Programs the K Crew’s Super Crew have adopted the phrase “Building passionate leaders within a diverse community” as their core value.

“Every year, hundreds of student leaders on the K Crew lead new students on UK's campus, welcoming them into the Big Blue Nation.  We are going to give next year's incoming class the best K Week ever, filled with great memories, enthusiastic relationships and Wildcat pride,” said K Crew co-coordinator Joshua Jennings.
