Sept. 20 Last Day for Students to Get New ID Cards Free of Charge

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 18, 2013) ― University of Kentucky faculty, staff and students must obtain new ID cards as part of the university's installation of its high-tech, comprehensive security management system.  Friday, Sept. 20, will be the last day replacement IDs will be provided at no cost to students.  Starting Monday, Sept. 23, students will be assessed a $15 replacement fee to get the new Wildcard if they exchange their current UK Wildcard. 

UK HealthCare ID badge integration will occur later in the fall, and additional information and instruction will be forthcoming regarding that transition. Faculty, staff and students of main campus who need access to the UK HealthCare facilities should continue to use their current UK HealthCare badge until that transition is complete.

For students, the new IDs will replace the previous WildCard (those issued prior to May 1, 2013) and can be used for all of the same services. No personal information will be stored on the card. A replacement fee of $30 will be charged to those who do not have their previous WildCard and for any new card that has been lost or stolen.

An optional ID card holder with lanyard is also available for $5.00. 

The WildCard UKID Center, now operated by UK Police, is located in Room 107 of the UK Student Center. Hours are 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
