“Munch, Munch” at Crunch Brunch
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2012) — Just when students thought that the free food had been eaten, the free shirts had been grabbed and there was no more fun to be had, the Student Activities Board brings Midnight Finals Crunch Brunch from 9 p.m. until midnight, Monday, Dec. 10, at Memorial Coliseum on UK's campus.
Crunch Brunch has become a tradition at the University of Kentucky. For the last few years, the Midnight Finals Crunch Brunch has taken place on the Monday of finals week each fall semester providing UK students a time to have fun and relax before taking finals and leaving for Winter Break.
“Everyone should come to Crunch Bruch as a stress reliever before finals,” said Elijah Zimmerman, director of campus life for SAB. “Students can get free food and shirts, while having fun and relaxing before the stress of the upcoming week.”
Crunch Brunch features a free hot breakfast served by many "UK celebrities" including administrators, faculty and staff members. Students can also get free five-minute chair massages, participate in sumo wrestling and play a variety of games for the chance to win free stuff. Academic advisers will once again host an "Ask an Advisor" table to answer any questions students may have going into finals week. Representatives from CARES and The Study will also be on hand to meet with students and answer any questions.
“SAB is welcoming many new guests to Crunch Brunch this year,” Zimmerman said. “It’s all about what students need and want to see. We want to relieve a lot of the stress students have going into finals, so any way that we can help is great.”
The Student Activities Board brings more than 100 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
