LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 27, 2010) – Lexington has horses on the brain and we have them on the walls. The Equestrian Exhibit featuring Keeneland opens in the Student Center Rasdall Gallery at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27. This event is sponsored by the Student Activities Board (SAB).

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) started two days ago and SAB wanted to bring a little piece of the horse craze to students, staff and faculty on campus. This exhibit will be held throughout the Games and will serve as a commemorative exhibit to the horse.

Items on display will be borrowed from Keeneland and will be available for purchase. Equine enthusiasts and students alike will enjoy this exhibit. UK students regularly attend the fall and spring Keeneland meets.

“This exhibit shows that we're very aware of current events and that we do all we can to keep up with the happenings of Lexington,” said Amanda Rambo, director of the cultural arts committee. She hopes that students will pay more attention to the horse culture in the Bluegrass as millions of people around the world turn their eyes on Lexington for WEG.

The Rasdall Gallery is free and open to the public. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This exhibit will run through Oct. 28.
