Steve Moakler to Wrap up Coffee House Series

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 26, 2013) ― It’s back and it’s better than ever. Steve Moakler will perform at the Student Activities Board’s final Coffee House series of the semester at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Ovid’s Café patio. A limited number of tall handcrafted Starbucks beverages will be given to attendees.

Moakler has quickly earned a reputation as one of Nashville’s best up-and-coming artists. His distinct sound provides a mélange of singer-songwriter and indie pop-rock that is impossible to forget, while lovable pop choruses and developed narratives keep listeners hitting repeat. His new LP, “Watching Time Run,” delivers favorites “Thing About Us” and “Can’t Stop Thinking About You,” while 2009’s “All The Faint Lights” produced his most popular hit “Hesitate.”

“Steve Moakler has proved himself to be an incredibly talented songwriter,” said Derek Operle, SAB director of concerts. “He’s blowing up on the indie-pop scene, and we’re excited to have him here at UK.”

The Coffee House series is an acoustic and intimate performance featuring regional artists. Past artists include Andrea Davidson, Justin Paul Lewis and A Lion Named Roar.
