Become a Better Leader

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 23, 2015) — The Leadership Exchange in the Office of Student Involvement is excited to announce two workshop series for the spring 2015 semester: Explore Workshops and the Impact Leadership Series.

Explore Workshops are interactive workshops that consist of leadership topics focused on personal development and life skills. Free dinner will be served at each workshop, and they will occur every other Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in 206 Student Center. Students who attend four out of seven workshops will be entered to win one of two $50 Plus Account prizes, as well as receive an exclusive Leadership Exchange padfolio!

·         Jan. 27: Getting Involved: The How and the Why — Presented by the Leadership Exchange Ambassadors

·         Feb. 10: Building Interpersonal Relationships — Guest Speaker: Shauna Prentice, Office of Student Involvement

·         Feb. 24: Money Management — Guest Speaker: Carol Carr, University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union

·         March 10: Time Management — Presented by Leadership Exchange Ambassadors

·         March 24: Proper Interview Etiquette — Guest Speaker from Stuckert Career Center

·         April 7: Stress Management — Presented by Leadership Exchange Ambassadors

·         April 21: Public Speaking 101 — Guest Speaker: Jillian Pyatte, Center for Community Outreach

The Impact Leadership Series is a seven-week series where students will discover their own leadership style, learn the "Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership" and learn how to apply that knowledge to make an impact on the UK and greater community. Students will receive exclusive access to the Leadership Practices Inventory and workbook, as well as a certificate of completion at the end of the seven weeks. Impact meetings will be held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. from Jan. 28 through March 11. There are only 25 spots available for the Impact Leadership Series, so sign up today!

The first meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28. will be an information session for students to learn more about the Impact Leadership Series without committing to the full seven weeks.
