Who Said Studying Isn’t Relaxing?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 7,2016) — Are finals stressing you out? Join Student Activities Board (SAV) and the Counseling Center at the Starbucks in William T. Young Library today at 6 p.m. to kick back and relax at Study Sounds. While finals can take an effect on students, there is nothing like a little bit of music and some coffee to clear the mind.

SAB’s Concerts committee and the Counseling Center are combining forces to help students through this stressful week. The Counseling Center will be offering quick workshops on mindfulness and stress relief every 15 minutes. After students complete a workshop they will get a voucher from SAB for free Starbucks.

“I’m excited to be working with the Counseling Center and Courtney Catron, a local guitarist, who will provide workshops and music that assists in relaxation during a stressful time,” said Jess Loflin, director of Concerts. “Finals always stress me out.”

SAB brings more than 60 entertaining, educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff and the greater Lexington community.
