DanceBlue to host annual silent auction

of

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2023) On Friday, Oct. 6, DanceBlue will host its annual Silent Auction from 6-9 p.m. at The Cornerstone, located at 409 South Limestone. DanceBlue Committee invites guests to join them for an evening full of live music, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and good company for an even better cause. All proceeds from the event support the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic in Kentucky Children’s Hospital and their patients and families.

All are invited to attend one of DanceBlue’s signature events, featuring a silent auction with more than 70 fantastic items including vacation stays, gift certificates, DanceBlue Clinic art and more! After the conclusion of the silent auction portion of the evening, a few special items will go up for sale during a live auction. The Silent Auction is an important event in the year-round fundraising efforts of DanceBlue, an organization committed to bettering the lives of patients and families in the DanceBlue Clinic by providing immediate care and support for patients and families whilst working to improve knowledge of and treatments for pediatric cancer in the long term. Since its beginning in 2006, DanceBlue has raised over $20 million dollars for the kids and families undergoing the toughest battles of their lives. Please support DanceBlue and the resilient kids in the clinic as DanceBlue fundraises throughout its 19th year.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the University of Kentucky Box Office either in-person or over the phone at 859-257-8427. Tickets bought before the event are $25 for students and $35 for community members. Tickets will also be on sale at the door of the event at a price of $35 for students and $45 for community members. The Silent Auction serves as a spirit point opportunity for dancers fundraising to earn a spot on the floor at the DanceBlue 2024 Marathon.

The dress code for the event is cocktail attire. For any questions regarding the event or purchasing tickets, please reach out to Garret Towe, DanceBlue corporate chair, at corporate@danceblue.org.

DanceBlue is a student-run organization at the University of Kentucky that works tirelessly all year, every year, to raise money for the kids!  DanceBlue fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. The organization raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer while supporting patients and families affected by it. Funds raised help provide financial and emotional support to families in the DanceBlue Clinic, as well as pediatric oncology research in hopes of one day finding a cure. DanceBlue will continue to spread joy to those fighting, to persevere in memory of the lives lost, and to celebrate every victory until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.
