LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2019) — The University of Kentucky Confucius Institute (UKCI) is set to host UK Global Confucius Institute Day from 11 a.m.- 3p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Stoll Field by the Gatton Student Center.

This year, visitors to the Global Confucius Institute Day have the opportunity to participate in various traditional Chinese games, arts and crafts, as well as watch live martial arts performances and take photos in traditional Chinese costumes, among several other activities.

The free event, held annually in September, celebrates the work of 514 Confucius Institutes across 134 countries through a showcase of arts, games, workshops, traditional Chinese costumes, music, dances and delicious food.

A gateway for Chinese language, culture and art to the people of Kentucky, UKCI provides leadership, support and coordination for Chinese language and programs in K-12 schools as well as on UK's campus; assists and facilitates establishing and maintaining faculty and student exchanges between UK colleges and Chinese universities; conducts Chinese language and cultural exchange; and promotes education about China on campus, across the Bluegrass region, and throughout the Commonwealth.

To keep up with UK Confucius Institute and future events, join the institute's listserv and follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat (@UKConfucius).
