Join DanceBlue for the Color Me Blue 5K
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2023) — Registration for the 2023 DanceBlue 5K is open! The event will take place 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8. The course runs through the University of Kentucky campus, with runners passing by the DanceBlue Clinic. Registration is open until Oct. 5 and is $30 for students and $50 for community members. Click here to register.
Students and community members will be showered with DanceBlue-colored powdered paint as they run/walk in support of the kids and families in the DanceBlue Clinic. For students interested in participating in DanceBlue’s 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon, the DB5K is a great way to earn spirit points and get involved in DanceBlue’s fundraising efforts. This is an amazing opportunity to come together with friends and family in support of the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
For those who cannot join in-person, DanceBlue is offering a virtual DanceBlue DB5K option. If you are unable to join us, consider gifting a registration to a student or community member who would enjoy the 5K.

DanceBlue is a registered student organization at the University of Kentucky that works tirelessly all year, every year, to raise money for the kids! DanceBlue fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. The organization raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer while supporting patients and families affected by it. Funds raised help provide financial and emotional support to families in the DanceBlue clinic, as well as pediatric oncology research in hopes of one day finding a cure.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
