Bluegrass Celebrates Earthdays
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 11, 2011) – Earthdays of the Bluegrass at the University of Kentucky is accelerating into full swing with dozens of events to motivate, educate and serve the community.
Bicycles lead the pack at many EDBG events this year, from maintenance workshops to a citywide tour. Lectures focus on Christianity and the environment and a 2020 Vision: A Path to Sustainability in the Coming Decade. What does Jesus have to say about nuclear power? Matthew Sleeth, M.D., author of “Serve God, Save the Planet” and co-editor of “The Green Bible,” will share his faith-based journey from successful ER physician to a healer of the planet.

The “Three Spheres’ approach to sustainability recognizes sustainability needs within the spheres of our ecological, social and economic systems. Tour of UK's first LEED-certified building
The Davis Marksbury Building in UK's Digital Village is on track to receive LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. It will be UK's first LEED-certified facility. This behind the scenes tour will highlight the sustainable features of this new building.
