Campus updates for Spring Break 2026
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 9, 2026) — Spring Break is quickly approaching — March 16-21 — and although many University of Kentucky students have travel plans, there are many students opting to stay in Lexington. UK facilities will have adjusted hours of operation for those spending their break on campus.
Here’s what you need to know:

Big Blue Pantry: The Big Blue Pantry will have reduced hours throughout break. It will be open 2-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

UK Campus Recreation: Not all fitness centers will remain open during break. A list of their updated hours is online.

UK Dining: Many dining locations on campus will have updated hours. A list of each location and its hours will be updated online daily.

Gatton Student Center: The student center and campus partners will have adjusted hours for Spring Break. A list of each location and its hours is online.

UK Housing: Nonbreak residence halls will close 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, and reopen noon Sunday, March 22. If there are any questions about seasonal residence hall closures, visit https://wildcatliving.uky.edu/break-housing or email ukhousing@uky.edu.

UK Libraries: Many libraries on campus will remain open during break. A list of the updated hours is online.

UK Transportation Services: Visit UK’s Transportation’s website to stay up to date on parking and bus information.

Regional Airport Shuttles: UK offers free shuttles to regional airports —Blue Grass Airport, Louisville International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport — during academic breaks. Register for your seat online.

BetterMynd: BetterMynd offers UK students free teletherapy sessions with licensed mental health counselors, no matter the time or the place.
