Provost, University Senate Host Faculty Forums on Provost Office Realignment

Main Building

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 7, 2017) — In an effort to better support student success at all levels, the University of Kentucky recently realigned the units reporting to the Office of the Provost. These structural changes are part of broad efforts to increase graduation and retention rates, as outlined in the UK Strategic Plan, adopted by the Board of Trustees in October 2015.

Underscoring the need for transparency and collaboration, Provost Tim Tracy has held a series of public forums with university employees and continuously communicated with the UK family through various platforms.

To build on these important conversations regarding the realignment process, Provost Tracy will host two forums for faculty this week on the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, March 8, from 4-5 p.m. in the William T. Young Library Athletics Association Auditorium
  • Thursday, March 9 from 9-10 a.m. in room 311 of the Gatton College of Business and Economics Building.

These forums were made possible through a collaboration with the University Senate and have been developed to help ensure faculty are aware of these changes.

The realignment of the Office of the Provost is rooted in and guided by the strategic plan and the four pillars of student success: academic success; financial stability; belonging and engagement; and health and wellness. These faculty forums will serve as opportunities to engage in thoughtful conversation and discuss the process by which these important changes are occurring. The provost will also answer questions from the university community.
