UPDATED: UK closed Wednesday, Feb. 19; UK HealthCare on regular schedule

Updated 9:35 a.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2025) — The University of Kentucky is now closing on Wednesday, Feb. 19, to ensure the safety and well-being of our community members. University officials made this decision to give the community additional time to clear city roads. We also want to provide more time for university crews to ensure UK roads, sidewalks and parking lots are clear tomorrow as we anticipate and prepare for being open for normal operating hours.
In-person classes and activities are canceled. If students have questions about their online class status, they should contact their instructor. University Plan B (designated) employees report to campus. Designated employees via remote access should work remotely during Plan B operations. If employees have questions about procedures for their work, they should contact their manager.
If you are on campus, please exercise caution and view tips to navigate campus safely, including maps showing the first sidewalks to be cleared during winter weather. You can report any sidewalks, building entrances or parking lots that need attention to snow@uky.edu.
