Time to Find Out About Living and Learning

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 8, 2013) -- If you have ever wondered what all those Living Learning residence hall communities were all about, today is your lucky day.

The Office of Residence Life, a division of Student Affairs, is sponsoring a Living Learning Program Showcase 4 to 6 p.m. today, April 8, in the Student Center Grand Ballroom. Today’s goal is to share the insights gained by the students who live and learn in these special programs.

“LLP Showcase is a celebration of our LLP students and their academic success for 2012-2013 academic year,” said Nina Marijanovic, assistant academic coordinator in the Office of Residence Life. “They will also be able to meet members of our Fall 2013-2014 LLP cohort, the faculty, staff and students associated with the program.”

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about opportunities for involvement with this program and other associated support programs within Residence Life.

Introduced in 1998, the Living Learning program presently includes 13 communities, with expectations to add a 14th, iNET, in the fall of 2013 when the expected LLP student enrollment  is expected to climb to 1,186.

“We have an average retention rate of 98 percent and an average GPA of 3.26, both higher than the general population,” said Marijanovic.
