UK Alumni Association awards nearly 200 scholarships

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 1, 2024) — The University of Kentucky Alumni Association recently honored 195 students who will receive scholarships totaling $300,665 in the 2024-25 academic year during its annual Scholarship Dinner, Sept. 20 at the Gatton Student Center. These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of the UK Alumni Association, local alumni clubs and individual alumni scholarship funds.

The event brought together both scholarship recipients and donors, offering a meaningful opportunity for them to connect. Donors were able to hear firsthand how their support is impacting students, while recipients had the chance to personally express their gratitude. Attendees heard remarks from UK Alumni Association President Rob Crady, UK Vice Provost Jana Jasinski, 2024 Joseph T. Burch Young Alumni Service Award Winner Michaela Taylor and UK Alumni Ambassadors President Jacob Grider.

A video presentation featured several scholarship recipients expressing gratitude to donors for their support through scholarships.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
