Policy Set for Emergencies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 30, 2009) – The University of Kentucky Office of the President recently announced the issuance of the following revised Human Resources Policies & Procedures (HRP&P).

This policy and procedure is updated as a result of recommendations from the Pandemic Planning Committee. The revised policy changes include:

        -- Additional information incorporated into the Purpose section – adding pandemic and utility emergencies as examples.

        -- Addition of definition of "Essential Employees."

        -- Under Policy section, reference to Good Samaritan Hospital added.

        -- Under Process section, explanation added regarding need to possibly alter essential employee list based upon type of emergency and a recommendation added for the notification of employees on an annual basis.
