LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 28, 2025) — With the end of the semester right around the corner, it’s important to be fully prepared for the beginning of summer.

Get a jumpstart on Summer and Fall 2025 with this helpful checklist:

  • Register for classes . Both Summer and Fall 2025 UK classes are available. Students should register now to ensure enrollment in the classes they need or want.
  • Meet with an advisor. There is still time for students to meet with their academic advisor! Academic advising assists students in navigating the degree planning process and connecting them to career pathways and resources across campus.
  • File a FAFSA. There’s still time to apply for student aid. All students, first-year and beyond, should fill out the FAFSA each year. Returning students can expect to receive their Financial Aid notification in June.
  • Apply for a summer parking permit. During sale dates, students can purchase a permit online by logging into their customer account, on-site at our customer service center or over the phone by calling 859-257-5757.
  • Make a residence hall Move-Out Appointment. A Move-Out Appointment is a designated 30-minute window of time for students to arrive at the loading area of their residence halls during spring move-out. All students MUST select an appointment in myUK. Click here for UK Housing’s move-out guide.
  • Use up remaining Meal Swipes and Flex Dollars. All unused spring plan Meal Swipes and Flex Dollars expire on Friday, May 9, and do not roll-over to future semesters. Review UK Dining’s Meal Plan FAQ.
  • Select a Fall 2025 dining plan or add Flex Dollars to student accounts. Convenient Flex plans are also available for all students during the Summer 2024 session. Learn more here.

A number of student resources housed in the Office for Student Success  will remain available over the summer. Find the full list of resoures here.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
